Government offices open at 10 am Wednesday, Jan. 12

Hall County Government offices will open at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12. Interim County Administrator Jock Connell advises employees and residents to use their best judgement on the safety of their local roads and proceed only with extreme caution.

The Purchasing Department has cancelled a mandatory pre-bid meeting scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Board of Commissioners meeting scheduled for Thursday also has been cancelled. All agenda items have been moved to the next meeting at 6 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Georgia Mountains Center.

Public Works, Sheriff, Fire, and Emergency Medical services have been working around the clock to clear the roads and respond to car accidents and emergencies. “Even though we were prepared with 7 scrapers, 12 spreaders, a snow plow, and several days worth of calcium, stone and sand, this is a huge event. We are working the roads around the clock and doing the best we can,” said Public Works & Utilities Director Ken Rearden.
