Forsyth Co. students use personal tech devices in the classroom

ALPHARETTA, Ga -- The classroom has entered a new era in learning and research.

Technology in your child's classroom has begun a new phase across metro Atlanta as teachers now encourage students to bring their personal technology devices to school to broaden their education.

Computer laptops, electronic tablets and Internet driven cellular phones -- once shunned by the school system as a no-no in the classroom -- are now urged by educators for their students to bring in to school with the acceptance of their parents.

ASO to honor Metro Atlanta music teachers

ASO to honor Metro Atlanta music teachers

ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will hold an appreciation ceremony for more than 180 Atlanta-area music teachers Friday evening.

The teachers will be recognized at 7 p.m. by ASO president Stanley Romanstein. Afterward, the instructors will attend the evening's concert featuring the music of Rimsky-Korsakov, Rachmaninov and Mussorgsky.

ASO cellist Joel Dallow will also receive a special award from Romanstein for his arts education advocacy work throughout Georgia.

Both the 8 p.m. concert and the preceding reception will take place at the Woodruff Arts Center, 1280 Peachtree Street NE, Midtown.

Do you have a son or daughter who loves to write? Do they enjoy telling stories or sharing information about activities and events going on in their school?

Whether your child enjoys writing imaginative stories for others to read or they have an interest in what is going on in their school and they want to share that information with others, we have a place for them! We’re currently looking for students – ages 10 through 18 – to submit articles to be published on CummingLocal.com.
