Home Depot GivesThousands to Author's Youth Center

Home Depot GivesThousands to Author's Youth Center

Several Gainesville, Georiga residents and businesses, including The Home Depot, are chipping in to support Christian author Jackie Gaskins’s nonprofit mission to open a community youth center called The Remnant. They are preparing for a weekend of work and will have teams of people lending their time and goods to finish renovating the old general store building on Keith Bridge Road

The Home Depot Store is donating almost $6,000 worth of materials and two days of labor over Memorial Day weekend to get Gaskins’s nonprofit building ready for public use. Flooring, sheet rock, fresh paint, and landscaping will be provided and installed by the home improvement supply chain. They will also donate a lawn mower, weed eater, grill, and other items to keep the building well maintained.

7 Keys to Being Loving All Year Long

7 Keys to Being Loving All Year Long

Every year when February rolls around, people start thinking about hearts, flowers, and love. Those who have a loving relationship look forward to the opportunity to express and receive endearments; those who don’t, would like to kick Valentine’s Day and Cupid off the edge of a cliff.  Yet, according to relationship counselor and author, Barbara J. Peters, “Showing you care is not a one day a year deal. It requires ongoing attention and action.”

By following these 7 steps, ‘being loving’ can become a part of your relationship and your life.

FREE Family Cinemas

It’s a Holiday Triple Feature at the Hampton Park Library on Friday, December 23rd. This is a FREE Family Cinema Event.  It’s not a traditional movie theatre, but rather a Library event room & projector is used.  Chairs are lined & in the past complimentary refreshments have been provided (although I can’t vouch that they’ll definitely have those for this screening).  But most importantly – it’s a FREE event.  And if you haven’t been to the Hampton Park Library yet … it’s gorgeous!  Really
