Cumming Student Took First Prize in the American Eagle 77Kids "Tell Us Why Your Kid Rocks" Contest | Community Spirit
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
Eleven-year-old Vickery Creek Middle School student, Sarah Voskamp, was recently notified that she took First Prize in the American Eagle 77Kids “Tell Us Why Your Kid Rocks” contest.
Thanks to Sarah, Vickery Creek Middle School will receive $1,000 for their school or PTA and Sarah will get a $50 77kids gift card.
Sarah was entered in the contest when her mother, Kim, submitted an essay on “Why Sarah Rocks.” Kim says it was easy to come up with the reasons why Sarah rocks because she is an “A” student, runs a lemonade stand at a local farmer’s market and other events, wrote a book (Filly Girls) at the age of nine, had it published when she was ten and now travels around Georgia, and even the country and into Canada inspiring kids with her message of “You don’t have to be big to do big things,” plus she does volunteer work and donates a portion of her books sales to causes she believes in. According to Kim, “She has done all of this by the time she turned eleven, it’s exciting to think about what’s in her future.”
The complete list of winners will be published on the 77kids.com/ptacontest on October 19th.
