CUMMING, Ga. -- Two men have been arrested after one of the largest local jewelry heists in years.
Thirty-two-year-old Kenardis Demaine of Smyrna and 26-year-old Carl Henry Bowser III of Atlanta are accused of stealing more than $2.8 million in jewelry from Milano's Fine Jewelry in Cumming over the weekend.
To get inside, police said the suspects cut through a concrete wall from an empty adjoining property. Investigators said it must have taken hours.
Jewelry store owner Ibrahim Ehicam said all his display cases were cleaned out and even his cash register was stolen. He didn't discover the heist until Monday.
The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said Bowser was arrested Tuesday afternoon at a home in Southwest Atlanta. Holloway was arrested at a hotel in Stockbridge early Wednesday morning.
Both men are charged with burglary and theft by receiving. They are being held at the Forsyth County Detention Center.
