Local boy scout to hold food drive for Eagle Scout project | News

DAWSONVILLE, Ga. -- A local boy scout has organized a non-perishable food drive in an effort to complete his Eagle Scout Leadership Project and to help the hungry.
Sixteen-year-old high school sophomore, Matthew Dudley, has set out to collect 5000 pounds of food. The event called "Jail and Bait" -- 21 community members have agreed to be jailed, including: Mayor James Grogan, city council members, the city manager and the sheriff.
Participants will be released depending on the amount of food donated.
The event will be held on Saturday, May 19 from 10:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Ric Rack which is located at 829 Hwy 9 North in Dawsonville.
