"The involvement of the community in providing information is what led to the recovery of the sculpture," said Sheriff Ted Paxton.

No arrests have been made at this time. The theft of the sculpture remains under investigation.

The eagle sculpture was reported stolen from the Big Creek Greenway trailhead off of Carolene Way in south Forsyth County on Aug. 28.

Sometime between the evening hours of Aug. 27 and the morning of Aug. 28, Forsyth County Parks and Recreation personnel discovered the sculpture missing and reported it to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.

Since that time, media attention and a reward from the local sculpture, Gregory Johnson, have generated tips from the public.
